Sew-in-Love pads are geared towards the ladies who want a soft, comfortable, BREATHABLE pad. We do NOT use PUL in our pads and instead rely on common sense layering of the inserts for maximum breathability and protection....(after all. you know your flow and what type of protection you need!) We do offer the base pads to have your choice of a flannel back (which is cooler and ohhh, so breathable.... or a fleece back which is leak resistant for peace of mind for those with heavier flows).... Each of our custom pads consist of the following: a thin winged base pad plus cotton liner inserts that are 3 layers thick (inserts are either 3 layers of cotton flannel OR 2 layers of cotton flannel + 1 layer of cotton terry....please read descriptions when buying)... (the number of inserts varies depending on the pad size). You can wear the base pad alone on your light days or you can add the liner inserts to accomodate a heavier flow. (You can request extra liner inserts to purchase!) Our pads are breathable as we use 100% cotton for all liner-inserts! The winged base-pad on our pads gets your choice of being flannel backed (cooler) or fleece backed (leak resistant). (Our Night pad has a double thick base pad for added protection.) Our pads are more comfortable than other pads because they are sewn together then turned and top-stitched instead of having rough serged edges found on other pads. The winged base pad is secured to your undergarment by a sturdy snap and features 2 bands that hold the optional liner inserts in place (on top) when more protection is needed.

Our Cloth Menstrual Pads are available in 3 sizes:
Mini Pad- $7.50 each Our 8 inch Mini Pad is recommended for light flow, daily discharge, or as a backup when using internal menstrual products such as the menstrual cup or tampons. It includes 1 liner-insert. (up to 5 layers of protection!)
Day Pad- $10.50 each Our 10 inch Day Pad is recommended for average to moderate flow. It includes 2 liner-inserts. (up to 8 layers of protection!)
Night Pad- $14.50 each Our 14 inch Night Pad (a.k.a. mama pad) is recommended for heavy flow, overnight use, or postpartum use. The winged base pad is double thick in the center for extra protection! It includes 3 liner-inserts. (up to 13 layers of protection!)
(We occasionally stock AIO 'all in one' menstrual pads with the same thickness and prices as above.)

How many pads will you need?
If you are new to using cloth pads, and are not sure what to buy, we recommend that you have 12 to start with, then add to your stash when you find what works best for you. We recommend starting with 3 mini pads, 6 day pads and 3 night pads.
A complete stash of pads is usually 24-36 pads that generally consists of: 3 night pads, 12 day pads, 6 mini pads, and 3 to 15 pantyliners (some women use pantyliners all of the time, others rarely use them)
How often do they need changed? This varies on your flow and personal habits. Generally, 2-4 pads are used during the day and 1 pad is used for overnight while sleeping.
Why switch to alternative menstrual products?
More Comfortable - We use breathable 100% cotton flannel. It is soft and feels good against sensitive areas.
Healthier- Many women switch to cloth pads because of irritations caused by chemical laden disposables. Many women report more comfortable, lighter, and shorter duration periods after switching!
Better for the environment- Saves our natural resources! No used feminine hygiene products going into the landfills! No trash to throw away!
Savings- With the proper care, cloth pads will last for years!
Because you can- I am being serious here..... We as women HAVE ALTERNATIVES...... and we OWE it to ourselves to try them and not be bullied or embarrassed by those who are close-minded or unwilling to be 'different' from what society has told us is acceptable.
Happier- This is true. Women who switch to alternative menstrual products tend to feel better about themselves and their cycles. Many women report feeling 'empowered' after switching. (Pretty designs to choose from is an added bonus!)

If using our pads for the first time, we request that you launder and try only 1 to 'test'. If you are not satisfied, we will issue a full refund on the unused/unopened pads that are returned to us within 90 days. (You keep the one you tried/tested and will be refunded for that one as well)
